| The Health Foundation Year is a transfer course that offers an opportunity for progression to the Medicine principal programme upon successful completion. It is designed for those who have not studied the requisite science subjects to A level.
Course Duration: 6 years - 1 year Foundation, 5 years medical degree.

| A levels: | AAB: Students should not have studied A2 biology OR chemistry. A Level grades AAB required in non science subjects (although applicants with one science A Level will still be considered). |
| GCSEs: | We require a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade A/A* with English Language and Maths at Grade C. |
| Resit policy: | We normally expect students applying after resitting A Levels to have gained at least grades of BBB at the first attempt and these grades must be shown on the UCAS application. Students are required to achieve three grade A passes after three years of A Level study. Only a limited number of resit applicants are admitted each year. It is not our policy to re-interview applicants who have been unsuccessful at interview the previous year. Offers made are only valid for the specified year of intake and no preference is given to students who fail to meet the entry criteria and then subsequently reapply. |
