Since it’s inception in 2004, MedSchools Online has had one primary goal; acting as an online resource to aid and guide medical school applicants and prospective students all the way from their first thoughts of a medical careers right through to becoming qualified practitioners.
In those 10 years the site has been viewed and hopefully appreciated by around 10,000 pairs of eyes every month (figures correct as of March 2014), who have come to read the information on the 400+ pages, forum posts and medical careers sections. This puts http://www.medschoolsonline.co.uk healthily amongst the most visited advisory sites for UK medical students and is a standing we take great pride in.
What users may have noticed however is that certain areas of the site were in need of updating. Our advice guides on courses had last been updated a number of years ago. Certain universities had also changed their entry exam process. And most notably, the costs of studying at UK universities across the board has been steadily increasing, with many now charging up to the maximum fee of £9,000 per annum following increases to the limits in recent years.
That all changes now.
In 2014 you will start seeing a lot of changes to the website. Both in content and in navigation. We are going to streamline the way in which users travel through our pages and make the areas as intuitive as possible. We have also worked hard on a new layout which will enable us to incorporate more new and exciting features that we intend to launch in the coming months.
We no longer want to serve just those wishing to enter medicine. We want to create a community which is all encompassing for every aspect of your career path. And god willing we will do so.
During this process we would love to hear from our site users; we’d like to hear your comments on the layout, our content, what features you would like to see, and what it is that makes you visit and keep visiting http://www.medschoolsonline.co.uk
With this information we can sculpt a site that suits your needs and does so in the best way possible. After all we are here for you.
