i'm just starting my 2nd year of a levels at the moment and was wondering whatt the lowest offers are for medicine =- sometimes they say ABB, but do they still give out these offers or are they higher in reality?
also, do any places ever come up during clearing?

Hiya,
I'm not actually sure of the answer to these questions but I would guess that if they say that's their minimum offer, they mean it. But I'm not sure if people have found out otherwise when it comes to the offers.
As far as clearing goes, it is very rare for people to get a place this way. I haven't heard of anyone getting in through clearing, apart from maybe one or two cases. It doesn't hurt to try if you don't get any offers but it's certainly not something you should pin your hopes on.
Just wanted to ask though - I realise that the course guide for school leavers is a bit rubbish at the moment so I wanted to improve it. What would be useful to know - other than minimum offers and number of applicants per place? Also, how many AS / A2s do people normally take now (it's been a while since I did them!)
Good luck anyway,
H

hi, thanks for the info! i haven't heard of anyone getting into med school through clearing either...someone told me today that they knew someone who got in with ABBC, with the C in chemistry, even though you're supposed to get AAB...
i'm doing chemistry, physics and biology - i did geography AS last year, wish i didn't have to do chemistry!
