I have decided (once again to apply for medical school, tried at school but ended up doing retakes and studying law degree), but I've only decided recently and the application time is now! Is it worth applying and saying what I plan to do over the next year (work as health care assistant and volunteer overseas) or should I wait a year so my application has firm evidence of what I've done rather than plan to do but then I'd have to wait another year of doing same thing.

Apply now! They can only say "no" and ythen ou can try again next year. If you have the grades and demonstrate enthusiasm and aptitude in your application then you stand as good a chance as any other applicant.
Go for it!

I'd say it's definitely worth applying this year, but you will need to get a move on and register for UKCAT as soon as possible.
Basically, you have nothing to lose. If you get in then that's great. If you don't then you'll be better prepared for applying next year than if you had decided to wait.
Don't be put off by fear of failure! The worst that can happen is you waste £15 on the UCAS form and a few hours on UCAS tracker and have to reapply next year with a bit more work experience. Best case scenario, you start medicine next year!
Go for it...

Thanks, didn't realise I could still apply for UKCAT thought I'd missed it so that's really helpful.
Looking into what's involved, and deciding where to apply and 4 or 5 years....arh!
