Typical offers:

AABe - AAB with a pass grade in an additional AS subject (for 2009 entry), rising to AAAb in 2010.

Chemistry:

Chemistry required at full A2 level

Biology:

Biology is required to AS level (Grade B)

Other subjects:

Some preference will be given to candidates whose third A-level or additional AS-level is outside the traditional science subjects of Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

General studies:

General Studies A-level is acceptable only as an alternative to the additional AS-level. For 2009 entry onwards the same rule will apply to Critical Thinking.

Resit policy:

We do not accept resit candidates.

GCSE requirements:

All candidates must offer GCSE (or O-level from a UK examination board) at grade B or above in English Language and Mathematics. IGCSEs at grade B are also acceptable.

If English is not your first language then an alternative to the GCSE or O-level may be offered (eg TOEFL or IELTS). If English is your first language then only GCSE (or O-level) English language at grade B will satisfy our criteria.

 

 

 

Alternative qualifications:

 

 

Scottish Highers:

New or Scottish Highers alone do not fulfil the entry requirements. In addition, students must offer 3 Advanced Highers, CSYS or UK A levels. Grades AAB are required in Advanced Highers, CSYS or A Level and must include Chemistry. Biology must also be offered at New or Scottish Higher Level.

International Baccalaureate:

Candidates must offer 3 subjects including Chemistry at Higher Level plus 3 subjects at Standard Level.
Biology must be studied as one of the Higher or Standard Level subjects. If Mathematics and English Language are not offered as part of the diploma, they must be offered at UK GCSE Level at grade B or above. The usual grade requirement for the IB is 6,6,5 at Higher Level, with 36 points overall.

Irish Leaving certificate:
