Typical offers:

AABa: A typical offer is 400 UCAS points from a maximum of four A/AS levels. At least 340 points must come from three full GCE A level subjects. You must have an A grade in a science subject and a minimum grade C in all A/AS subjects.

Chemistry:

Not essential as long as you have 1 science subject at A2 (biology or physics)

Biology:

Not essential, as long as you take 1 science subject at A2 (including chemistry or physics)

Other subjects:

They prefer you to have 2 sciences and one non-science subject

General studies:

Not acceptable

Entrance Exam:

UKCAT

Resit policy:

Applicants taking resits will be considered but only if they achieve slightly under 400 points at the first attempt.

GCSE requirements:

Students are required to achieve a minimum of seven GCSE passes at grades A-C and must include English Language, Mathematics and either Double Award Science of GCSE Biology.

 

 

 

Alternative qualifications:

 

 

Scottish Highers:

Students are required to achieve grades AAB at Advanced Higher level, which must include a grade A in a science subject and a grade B or above in a fourth subject or above at Higher level. Students offering a mix of Advanced Higher and/or Higher level subjects only are advised to contact the Peninsula Medical School for further advice.

International Baccalaureate:

Students must pass the IB Diploma with a score of at least 31 points which must include a minimum of six in a science and six in a further subject at the higher level. Please note, this policy is currently under review and may change.

Irish Leaving certificate:

Students are required to achieve grades of AAAAB at higher level including at least one science subject at grade A, plus a further subject at grade A at ordinary level.
