There are various areas where the volunteers help out, including wards, outpatient clinics, accident & emergency and the information desks. The duties vary, but include making refreshments for patients, directing and escorting patients, or answering enquiries. On the wards a volunteer may help to fill out menu cards for the patients, give out the meals or generally help the staff. We have a few befrienders who will sit and talk to those patients who do not receive many visitors.
